  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk or cream
  • 1 packet ranch dressing seasoning mix (about 1 oz)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Cook and shred the chicken breasts, crisp the bacon and chop it, and thinly slice the potatoes so they bake evenly. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Make the Sauce: In a bowl, combine the sour cream, milk or cream, ranch seasoning mix, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Whisk until smooth to form a creamy ranch sauce base.
  3. Layer the Bake: Grease a baking dish and layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom. Add the shredded chicken and chopped bacon evenly over the potatoes. Pour half of the ranch sauce over the layers. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and top with the rest of the ranch sauce.
  4. Top and Bake: Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly to set. Sprinkle chopped green onions over the top for freshness before serving.
