Maple Sausage Sliders are a quick and easy appetizer that combines the sweet, smoky flavor of maple syrup with savory sausage, served on soft slider buns. Perfect for game days, family gatherings, or holiday parties, these sliders offer a delicious balance of comfort and excitement in bite-sized form.

  • 1 lb ground pork sausage
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 8 slider buns
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sausage patties: In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork sausage with salt and pepper, then gently mix just until combined. Form into small, slider-sized patties, about 2 inches in diameter and ½ inch thick for perfect cooking.
  2. Cook the sausage patties: Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. While still in the pan, drizzle maple syrup over the patties, turning to coat them evenly and develop a sticky glaze.
  3. Toast the slider buns: Spread butter on the cut sides of the slider buns and toast them in a separate skillet or oven until golden brown and slightly crispy, adding wonderful texture to your sliders.
  4. Assemble the sliders: On each bottom bun, spread a little Dijon mustard, place the glazed sausage patty, then top with shredded cheddar cheese. Close with the bun tops and optionally garnish with fresh parsley for a fresh, green touch.

Notes

  • Don’t overmix the sausage to keep patties tender rather than tough.
  • Use room temperature maple syrup for better glazing without cooling the pan.
  • Toast buns just before serving to keep them warm and crunchy.
  • Make patties uniform in size for even cooking and neat sliders.
  • Add a toothpick to keep sliders together, especially for parties.
