Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 ranch seasoning packet (1 oz)

Cheeses

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided

Meat and Vegetables

  • 68 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled, divided
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions, divided

Optional

  • Red pepper flakes, to taste (optional for heat)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bacon: Cook the bacon strips in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and drain on paper towels to remove excess grease, then crumble into small pieces.
  2. Mix the Creamy Base: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Stir in the ranch seasoning packet until the mixture is smooth and evenly mixed.
  3. Add the Cheeses and Onions: Fold in most of the shredded cheddar cheese and most of the chopped green onions into the creamy mixture, reserving a little of each for topping later.
  4. Combine and Bake: Stir in most of the crumbled bacon, reserving some for garnish. Transfer the mixture into a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, until the dip is bubbly and golden on top.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Immediately after baking, sprinkle the reserved bacon, cheddar cheese, and green onions on top to add color, texture, and a fresh crunch. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Softening the cream cheese before mixing makes the dip smoother and easier to combine.
  • Drain bacon well to prevent excess grease in the dip.
  • Use sharp cheddar cheese for a more flavorful and cheesy dip.
  • Preheat the oven to ensure even baking and perfect golden top.
  • Let the dip rest for a few minutes after baking to thicken and become easier to scoop.
