Ingredients

Scale

Brisket and Marinade

  • 3 to 4 pounds beef brisket, trimmed of excess fat
  • 2 to 3 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 large onion, sliced

Assembly

  • Slider buns (soft and small)
  • Optional toppings: pickled onions, coleslaw, cheese (such as pepper jack or sharp cheddar)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brisket and Marinade: Trim excess fat from the brisket. In a blender or bowl, combine chipotle peppers in adobo, garlic, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth to make a bold marinade. Coat the brisket thoroughly with the marinade to infuse smoky, spicy flavor.
  2. Slow Cook the Brisket: Place the brisket in the slow cooker with sliced onions, then pour any remaining marinade over the top. Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or high for 5 to 6 hours until the brisket is fork-tender and connective tissues are broken down.
  3. Shred the Brisket: Transfer the cooked brisket to a cutting board and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded meat to the slow cooker and stir it with the cooking juices to keep it moist and flavorful.
  4. Assemble Your Sliders: Slice the slider buns in half, then pile generous portions of the shredded chipotle brisket onto the bottom halves. Add any desired toppings such as pickled onions, coleslaw, or cheese. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use a well-marbled brisket for maximum tenderness and flavor.
  • Marinate the brisket overnight if possible to deepen the smoky-chipotle flavor.
  • Ensure there is enough beef broth to keep the meat moist but avoid excess liquid to prevent sogginess.
  • Cook low and slow for the best texture and shredded tenderness.
  • Let the brisket rest 10-15 minutes after cooking before shredding to retain juices.
